Education and Training
Dr. Linda Jackson is an Ivy League trained Orthopedic Surgeon. She received her B. A in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1982. She was the first African-American female to obtain an Engineering degree from Dartmouth! She attended the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, and obtained a Master’s of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1985. She completed her medical training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, New York in 1989. Her post-graduate orthopedic residency was completed at the University of Connecticut. Additional Fellowship training for Hand and Upper Extremity surgery was completed at The Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York in 1994. HSS was founded in 1863 and is the oldest Orthopedic Hospital in the country. It is affiliated with both Columbia and Cornell Universities and is consistently ranked by US News and World Reports as the #1 Orthopedic Hospital in the country.

Patient Population
Dr. Jackson sees patients with general orthopedic musculoskeletal issues including upper and lower extremity sprains and fractures. She performs surgeries for compression neuropathies such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Cubital Tunnel Syndrome. She does surgery for Rotator Cuff Tears, and other tendon injuries or dysfunction. She also evaluates and treats hand, elbow, and shoulder injuries. She also treats overuse syndromes and does surgery for arthritic conditions including Total Shoulder Replacements. Dr. Jackson also performs arthroscopic procedures on the knee, including surgery for Meniscal Tears.
In general, Dr. Jackson’s treatment is based upon a conservative philosophy, with a multidisciplinary approach when deemed necessary, including physical and occupational therapy as well as chiropractic treatments. When necessary, surgical treatment options are pursued when conservative regimens have been ineffective.

Professional Affiliations
Dr. Jackson practiced in the Atlanta metropolitan area from 1995 to 2011. During that time she practiced hand and upper extremity surgery and eventually expanded her practice scope to include general orthopedics and sports medicine. In 2011, she transitioned to practice orthopedic surgery in the U.S Virgin Islands. During that time period, she traveled and treated patients with orthopedic medical issues in St Croix, St Thomas, and St John. She also served as team physician for St Croix girls’ soccer team and accompanied them on Caribbean tournaments. She was a multi-year award winner for the best Orthopedic Surgeon in the Virgin Islands!
In 2019, she returned to Georgia to resume her orthopedic surgical practice. She joined ReVive Orthopedics in December 2022.
